Dr. David Aikman is an award-winning print and broadcast
journalist, a best-selling author, and a foreign affairs commentator
based in the Washington, D.C.-area.

Aikman's
wide-ranging

include a 23-year career at TIME Magazine with reporting spanning

globe of nearly all the major historical events of the time. Since
leaving TIME, he has authored a half-dozen books including the new

In his landmark
book, David Aikman
profiles six extraordinary leaders who have changed the century by
modeling essential, undeniable virtues: Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela,
Billy Graham, Alexander
Solzhenitsyn, Pope John Paul II and Elie Wiesel. Based on personal
interviews with some of the six, Aikman examines the
spiritual impulses that motivated them in their life's work and
impacted the world.

In 1997, he was
recognized as Christian Journalist of the
Year (Regent
University, Virginia); and in 2000 received the Award for Best Standing
(regular) Column in Christian magazines, Evangelical Press Association,
2000. In 1998, Dr.
Aikman founded Gegrapha(www.gegrapha.org),
a worldwide fellowship group for Christians in journalism and serves as
founding chairman and a board member.
With special
expertise in China, Russia, the Middle East, Mongolia and religious
freedom issues worldwide, Dr. Aikman is frequently invited to deliver
expert testimony at Congressional hearings and also speaks at events
all over the world. Dr. Aikman speaks six languages, including French,
German, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.
